THE WELLCAMP ENTERTAINMENT PRECINCT (WEP)

The Wellcamp Entertainment Precinct, incorporating the will power centre for motorsport, driver excellence & major events, is a generational opportunity to provide city-building infrastructure, celebrate regional Queensland and take Toowoomba to the world.

At the heart of the WEP project is the concept of diverse motorsport, entertainment and training precinct which has been informed by the combined expertise of Wagner Corp, Urbis (master planning), iEDM (motorsport track design and development specialist), and recognised industry advisers Cochrane Entertainment (Tony Cochrane) and Skaife Racing (Mark Skaife). The WEP has been carefully designed to achieve the identified service need and deliver maximum benefits for Toowoomba, Queensland and regional Australia.

The project presents the opportunity to attract both international and domestic race events. Notably, the opportunity to design and deliver the project to provide for Australia’s first championship grade night race exists on the proposed site. In order to be successful, and to deliver a return on the significant investment that both the public and private sectors will make, the Wellcamp Entertainment Precinct must be a multipurpose destination. It not only provide a home for motorsports in regional Queensland; it willoffer the supporting infrastructure and facilities that can be used to attract and accommodate ongoing investment in other important sectors of the region’s economy.

Opportunities for such landmark projects, close to infrastructure, with proximity to Australia’s 3rd largest and 6th largest cities, in an exciting State like Queensland with its ideal weather, are completely unique and will witness the project utilised by operators from all over the country as well as the Asia/Pacific basin. This precinct is not simply a local project but will generate national and international commercial and tourism opportunities.
